Oleksandra Pavlenko reported at the round table of Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

On 13 October, 2009 in Kyiv within the framework of round table on the theme: “Protection of Ukrainian business’s interests in CIS countries and European Union” ceremonical signing of a Memorandum on the collaboration between the European Arbitration Chamber (EAC) and the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UUIE), headed by Anatoliy Kinakh, took place. The event was organized by the UUIE jointly with the EAC with the participation of the Ministry of Economy, Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk, Law group and the Teaching Center of International Law and Arbitration. The UUIE Vice President Blavdzevich Aleksandra, the European Arbitration Chamber President Gennady Pampukha, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine representatives, directors of domestic enterprises as well as lawyer, partner with Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk, Law group Oleksandra Pavlenko.

During the round table the practical aspects of issues such as urgent tendencies and dynamics of commodity circulation of Ukraine, CIS and EU countries, initiatives of the European Arbitration Chamber in the sphere of business’s interests protection: structure, strategy and practical steps, were reported. Oleksandra Pavlenko initiated discussion concerning “The International and Ukrainian business in International Arbitration: are forces equal?”, in which she characterized the main complexities which Ukrainian business faces upon submission of a statement of claim and also concerning the peculiarities of arbitration clauses application in cocnclusion of international agreements. Oleksandra Pavlenko, as a member of the European Arbitration Chamber and a practicing lawyer, has commented the signed memorandum as a huge breakthrough in the sphere of arbitration settlement of disputes of national Ukrainian business.

Oleksandra Pavlenko says: “The collaboration project do not appear occasionally. The Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs combines a huge quantity of Ukrainian enterprises which during the crisis period of time faced a lot of problems which are needed to be resolved not always by traditional ways. It will be provided assistance and consultation to the members of the Union concerning issues of arbitration settlement of disputes and opportunities of arbitration clauses. The European Arbitration Chamber undertakes to globally implement old-established opportunities of international settlement of disputes in Ukrainian business».
