“Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk”, Law group was the general sponsor of the First international arbitration forum which was held in Kyiv, 21 May 2009.

Lawyers and international arbitrators from 13 countries of the world, including the USA, Europe, the CIS countries, Central Asia and Middle East, took part in the Forum. This event was supported by such world-known organizations-subdivisions of the United Nations, as UNCTAD and UNCITRAL, as well as by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London, Great Britain). Oleksandra Pavlenko, attorney-at-law, partner with “Pavlenko & Poberezhnyuk”, Law group, arbitrator of the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the European Arbitration Chamber (Brussels, Belgium) in cooperation with the Head of Antimonopoly committee of Ukraine Oleksandr Melnychenko and also with the judge of the Constitutional court of Ukraine Volodymyr Kampo opened the event with welcoming speeches.

Oleksandra Pavlenko presented a speech “The problem of arbitration selection. Urgency under crisis conditions. ”Among the key issues which have been discussed at the Forum the following issues should be mentioned: the ADR development system in European and the CIS countries, procedural peculiarities of disputes consideration in various arbitration institutions, such as ICC, LCIA, CEPANI, the International Commercial Arbitration Court under the European Arbitration Chamber, various systems ratio of the law, such as Common Law and Civil Law and influence of this difference on development peculiarities of the arbitration, as well as the questions on development peculiarities of national and international arbitrations in Ukraine, negative trends of legislative regulation in this sphere have been discussed at the forum.
